Xin He started his music journey when he was 3 years old. When he first heard the sound of the piano, he shouted out to his mother saying that “I want to learn this”! That’s how the story started. Later in the elementary school, Xin was elected to join the student orchestra as a piano accompaniment because of the music theory foundation and the piano technique. However, Xin fell in love with his second instrument, saxophone, and started to learn about classic playing skills. During his middle school and high school, even though the school work was heavy and busy, he had never thought of giving up on music. In 2015, after graduated from high school, Xin held his personal concert in Xinghai Music Hall, one of the biggest and most professional music halls in Guangzhou China, where Langlang played the piano many times. The concert was very successful and Xin was reported by the local TV news in the next day’s newspaper. Then, he decided to be a professional musician and he got in to Berklee College of Music.
During the time at Berklee, Xin found his way to become a composer, arranger, producer and film scorer. He studied double major in Contemporary Writing and Production (CWP) and Film Scoring (FS) at the college and had many experience in producing large ensemble and conducting many different ensembles. Moreover, he worked as a music tutor at Berklee for 3 semesters to help students who struggled with music theory, reading and dictating music, music practice skills and other music skills. After that, Xin earned an international tutor training program certification credited by College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).
Now, Xin graduated in 2019 summer and become a freelance film scorer and composer. With his experience in music and passion in teaching music, Xin believes he could stimulate creativity, imagination and happiness from his students and become a trustworthy mentor in music.
