Mentorship FAQs

Where do I sign up for an interview?

Once you create an account, you'll be asked to book an interview with our founder for a 15 - 30 minute call.

How am I paid?

You are an independent contractor, so you will be paid every Sunday for all the previous week's lessons on Zelle.

Do I need experience in teaching?

No, but passion in teaching and music is required as well as a minimum of 4 years of learning a specific instrument. With an open-mind, creativity and notes on the workbooks, we're confident you'll be a great mentor even without experience!

How do I know what levels I can teach?

For levels 3 and under, it depends on the number of experience on the instrument. To mentor levels 4 and 5, you will need to submit a video of your performance on the instrument that will be assessed.

Can I teach full time?

Yes! You can teach anywhere from 30 minutes a week to 30+ hours a week.

Do I need to make my own curriculum and lesson plans?

No, we have workbooks with notes for mentors and is designed so you don't need to spend time outside lessons. If students request songs outside the workbook, we may be able to transcribe it for you so just ask!
